A Christmas Message from Long Whatton & Diseworth Parish Council
As villages we had more than our fair share of challenges in 2024, and we know there are more on our horizon for the coming year. Whatever happens around us we need to remember is that it is 'us', the people that live in Long Whatton and Diseworth, that make our community so successful.
Your parish council have continued to work hard for the benefit of our lovely villages. We take the initiative when we can, as well as providing help and support when needed to encourage others to be good neighbours and help those less fortunate.
Christmas is traditionally a time for friends and family to get together and relax, delight in the joy of our children and grandchildren. It is also a time to reflect on the current year and to look forward to the New Year.
We should all take time to think about those who will work throughout the festive period. Including the emergency services, NHS staff, care providers, the armed forces and those involved in many other essential public services that we sometimes take for granted.
Whatever you'll be doing this Christmas I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas as well as a happy and prosperous New Year.
